Akshatha Humchadakatte
Akshata Hunchadakatte is a Kannada language poet, critic, editor and publisher. Akshata was born in Hunchadakatte of Thirthahalli taluk of Shivamogga district. His father is Krishnamurthy and mother Shaila. He completed his education at Sahyadri College, Shivamogga.
Akshatha Humchadakatte who has published several collections of poetry and essays, has published hundreds of books through her self-initiated ‘Aharnishi Prakashan’. Kadidalu Shamanna’s autobiography Kadu Torey Jadu, Purushottama Bilimale’s Kage Mittada Neeru, Nira Melana Chitra, Gayagondavarige, and Raste Nakshatra have won many awards. It is a publishing house that has made its own mark in the cultural sector.
The first collection of poems “Rekke Bichchi Akasha Nechchi” was published under the name ‘Akshata K’. Later identified as Akshata Hunchadakatte, he published several books. Akshatha won the 2011 Karnataka Sahitya Akademi Award for her rendition of Kadadalu Shamanna’s autobiography ‘Kadu Toreya Jadu’.
Thirthahalli is surrounded by beautiful natural spots including waterfalls, forests and hills, making it a favorite destination for nature lovers and trekkers. The serene atmosphere and pleasant climate of this region attracts tourists from different parts of the country.
